      Conservation on the Road: Artefacts and Interiors

      Learn about how EH looks after building interiors and collections by preventing the many types of deterioration. We will explore each type (light, humidity etc.) in the form of several mini activities.

      Family Heritage Morning

      Join us for a fun-filled morning with the Marble Hill Playcentre team as we discover Marble Hill’s fascinating history. Budding historians can get creative with hands-on activities and learn how to question the past through play and exploration. Suitable for 4 – 11 year olds.

They will identify the items and think about how objects relate to features on sites including placement of buildings, garden features and periods.

      Conservation on the Road: Gardens and Landscapes

      Learn about how EH looks after the historical character of outdoor spaces and the creatures that live there. Visitors will be able to engage with the site's flora and fauna and make their own plaster creation by pressing natural material into clay moulds (can get messy). Younger children will be able to design their own landscape using miniature garden elements.



      Suitable for all. Please meet us next to the Marble Hill cafe.

      LGBTQ Tours

      Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23 & Wednesday 30 June.



      This Pride Month, join one of our new LGBTQ tours. Each tour will seek to explain more about Horace Walpole’s sexuality by investigating the correspondence between his network of friends and acquaintances, and how this might inform our interpretation of his house and collection.



      Tours include a glass of fizz and access to Kleanthis Kyriakou's installation 'A Monument to Strawberry Hill'.
