Misunderstanding by Connaire Kensit

How was I to know you loved me

When you never gave a sign?

When I kissed you, you just shoved me

Straight into the Serpentine.

How was I to know the reason

Was that you had feared your wife

Might be watching, might see treason.

And she’s handy with a knife.
