Babysitter’s Lament
How did you become this big?!
I used to read you a bedtime story,
take you to the toilet.
Be a regular visitor on Saturday
nights.
Shouldn’t you be in bed?!
Instead of doing all this fancy
paperwork?
The grown up now a child as you
look through my accounts.
Childhood memories won’t
be of interest to you yet.
But later on, you’ll wonder about
your toys and stories
– who you played Mousetrap with.
So how much tax do I owe again?!
