Poem for today by Pratbha Castle

They swoop in
on  plume tailed
whimsy, forage
sticks of sage,
hoary rose buds, whips
of tousled jasmine.

A coven of long tailed tits.

Do they sense

from afar

spider hatchlings
over terracotta pots,
seed stash of pansies,
forsythia tipping yellow.

My heart hankering
for their cabrioles of joy.
