      Simply Bowie

The music of David Bowie as you’ve never heard it before. Following sell out seasons at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival, NME Male Vocalist of the Year, Oliver Darley brings his own inimitable style to the music of this iconic artist. With only jazz pianist Chad Lelong for accompaniment, the two strip back Bowie’s most recognisable hits to present a unique interpretation of great British songwriting.  '(Darley is) one of the UK's greatest white voices' (B B King). 'He could sing the angels to sleep and wake the Devil from his bed’ (Ray Charles)

      Tickets: £17 / £16 concs / £15 LAC Members

      Kindred Spirit Band Concert

Twickenham's beautiful, new Arts Centre, The Exchange presents the Kindred Spirit Band on Friday 23rd March 2018.

The Kindred Spirit Band sound is special and distinctive, driven by "haunting and bewitching" female vocals, guitar, two classically trained, virtuoso, lead instrument players (on violin and flute / sax), dynamic drums and bass guitar and laced with jigs, reels and duelling improvisations. The band features Elaine Samuels (guitar and vocals), Catherine Dimmock (flute, sax and vocals) , Martin Ash (electric violin), Mike Hislop (bass) and Aleem Saleh (drums).

This progressive folk rock band play powerful “perceptive and intriguing” original material which is inclined to the mystical, magical and environmental.

I have finally found music again…I have not heard such wonderful, uplifting music in ages.” Gene Saul, Alabama

The band have performed at Theatres, Art Centres, festivals and clubs including the famous Cavern Club, Liverpool, where John Lennon’s sister, Julia, rushed back stage to congratulate them on their set! The band’s singer / song-writer / guitarist, Elaine Samuels, has been featured on TV, radio & Glastonbury Festival as well as tours up and down the UK.

The day began with Kindred Spirit, whose blending of some electrifying folk rock with a prog sensitivity, ensured the Spitfire stage got off to a good start… they held the crowds attention with some quite delightful music” Laurence Todd, Classic Rock Society

Since the release of their last album, “Phoenix Rising”, which has been receiving some great reviews, the band have been featured in Prog Magazine and the album is being distributed globally.

Stunning new album… extraordinarily beautiful songs written for our generation” Neil Mach, AdPontes
