      Piaf Remembered

       



      This is the story of a man who shares his fleeting memories of Edith Piaf’s final emotional performance at the Olympia Music Hall in Paris in 1962, which he attended as a child and led him to become a lifelong fan. 





      An intimate musical cabaret featuring spoken word by Gary Merry and many of Edith Piaf’s timeless classics, sung in French by the renowned jazz and cabaret singer Oriana Curls. With live jazz band: Katy Jungmann on saxophone, accordion and clarinet and Chris Jerome on piano.

      Martin Simpson - Trails and Tribulations

      World renowned guitarist, singer and songwriter Martin Simpson released his 20th solo album ‘Trails & Tribulations’ in late 2017. A guitarist of formidable talent, he has been recognised as one of the world’s finest fingerstyle guitarists and a master of both acoustic and slide guitar. Equally at home playing English and American folk, blues and his own compositions, his solo shows bear witness to an artist at the very top of his game. “One of the virtuoso instrumentalists of the English music scene” - The Guardian.

      Anthea Fry - Afternoon at the Theatre - Classics in the Afternoon Series

      Anthea Fry (piano) was a prize-winning student at the Royal Academy of Music under the guidance of Robin Wood and Max Pirani. A Wigmore Hall debut led to engagements around the UK, on London’s South Bank and in Europe and USA. She performs widely as soloist and chamber musician and tours the world as a music examiner. Her programme for this concert is based on themes from opera and ballet.

      Classics in the Afternoon



      A short series of intimate Sunday afternoon concerts featuring four groups of outstanding chamber musicians. Ticket price includes tea and cake and if you book two or more concerts you’ll receive a series discount.
