Zen Painting
He stirs the paint with a chopstick
Slowly and steadily restoring its beauteous homogeneity
Inspects his brush, it’s clean and dry
And he addresses the panel that he is about to paint.
It’s a lost art, Zen. The artistry of life.
Finding life-affirming fulfilment in the simplest of tasks
Emptying one’s mind and becoming the action itself
The moment becoming your entire universe
he is painting
through the window
by the panel
he can see into the garden
he smiles
rain is falling
