*Heartsease*
They swoop in
on plume tailed
whimsy, forage
sticks of sage,
hoary rose buds, whips
of tousled jasmine.
A coven of long tailed tits.
Do they sense
from afar
spider hatchlings
swarming
over terracotta pots,
seed stash of pansies,
forsythia tipping yellow.
My heart hankering
for their cabrioles of joy.
