Poem for the day by Ann Havell

Surveillance – dead time

Lurking in places, invisible and undetected,

The silent, sinewy, pulsing nerve of the unseen watcher

awaits movement from its victim.

Dead time for the many but

Not for an unseen watcher, always

Alert for movement and sound, causing

its nerves to scratch, scratch and tingle.

Unmanned, engaged in continuous combat an

unseen watcher shadows its clandestine quarry.
