Arts Richmond Swan Awards for Drama and Musicals 2017-18

At a glamourous event in the spectacular setting of the  Landmark Arts Centre on September 30th, the Mayor of Richmond, together with local TV celebrities Lynn Faulds Wood and John Stapleton, presented Arts Richmond’s annual trophies, The Swans, for excellence in the dramatic and musical arts.      The judges praised the outstanding quality of work produced in 2017-18 across the borough by local musical and drama societies, who in all had entered over 40 productions.    

Members  of Dramacube, Richmond Shakespeare Society, Edmundian Players and Teddington Theatre Club were among the individual winners .  Wesley Henderson Roe made history by being named  the Director of the Best Play, Stones in his Pockets,(Teddington Theatre Club)  and then  for something completely different, as Director of the musical Made in Dagenham, for BROS Theatre Company, winners in the Best Musical Production category,

The Accolade for services to the arts in the borough over many years was awarded to Pam Frazer in recognition of her work with Arts Richmond, for drama, music (and finance), and for the Richmond upon Thames Performing Arts Festival.
