Richmond Music Trust
Richmond Music Trust is an independent charitable organisation offering comprehensive music support to schools and parents. We provide instrumental tuition to 5500 children and young people in whole class, large and small group and individual lessons. Alongside this a wide range of ensembles, bands and orchestras at all levels are provided every week at four music centres. A range of ongoing support for schools is provided which includes music network meetings, inset sessions and frequent joint working. Singing support includes two large scale extended performances: The Primary Singing Festival and Live at The Rose. RMT was a lead partner in the Dreams project as part of the 2012 cultural Olympiad and regularly organises other regular large scale events for young musicians including the Big Racket and an annual borough-wide instrumental day for schools. A flourishing RMT Music Therapy department engages with over 200 clients each week both in-house and through outreach work across the borough and beyond.
