Thames Youth OrchestraThames Youth Orchestra was founded in 2005 and since then has gone from strength to strength, with its current membership comprising of students from over 25 schools in South West London. Its ethos is defined by a challenging, adventurous approach to programming, which combines well-established large-scale orchestral favourites with twentieth century rarities and new commissions. The orchestra has performed at Cadogan Hall, St. John's Smith Square and the Barbican Centre, and featured on BBC programmes. The minimum required standard is Grade 6-7, and there are occasional informal auditions to determine seating, but any interested students are welcome to come to one of our rehearsals, which take place on Monday evenings from 6.15 to 8.45pm at Tiffin Girls’ school, Richmond Road, Kingston, KT2 5PL. For more information, please visit our website where you can find a complete list of past repertoire and recordings of the orchestra in concert.
