20 in 2020 - Fountain Gallery Anniversary Exhibition
25 Nov 2019 - 8 Dec 2019
The Fountain Gallery celebrates 20 years with a very special group exhibition ‘20 in 2020’ including work from all the current members of this successful artists’ co-operative group.
The Fountain Gallery, home to a long-established artists’ cooperative just around the corner from Hampton Court Palace, will open a 20th anniversary celebration on the 26th of November with an exhibition of its members’ wide range of work.
The 20 artists who share in the running of the gallery create paintings, prints, ceramics, textiles and jewellery, and organise solo exhibitions every two weeks. The continually changing displays have been a magnet for the art-loving neighbourhood since they began in 1999, when watercolourist and architect Andrew Blyth and his partner Liz Butt transformed a former antique shop in Bridge Street, East Molesey, into an art gallery.
A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, enhanced by the calming trickle of a courtyard fountain, has helped to make the gallery a regular stop for many in the local community. For other visitors its location, five minutes’ walk from Hampton Court rail station and from the palace, adds to the attraction, as do the antique shops, boutiques and restaurants lining Bridge Street.
The gallery will celebrate for a year, starting with its anniversary exhibition: “The Fountain Gallery is 20 in 2020” between 26th November and 8th December 2019. Please visit www.fountaingallery.co.uk for more information.
