Patricia Hammond – Voice, William Summers - Recorder, Flute, Stephen Carpenter - Vihuela, Guitar. Music from the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries using reconstructed period instruments. In this programme the Consort takes songs and tunes from the mixed cultures of Renaissance Spain and its colonies to present a society of ceremony and intimacy in music. In performance, they aim to recover the engaging and informal style of the early music revival of the 1970s.They have recorded an album of English songs from the early seventeenth century - In Mirth and Mourning - and plan to record Spanish repertoire soon.
