Richmond Film Society – screening of 'The Other Side of Hope' (Finland)

12 Dec 2017
8:00 pm
St Mary's University

Please note that this will be our last screening at St Mary's UniversityFrom January 2018, we shall be screening all our films at 'The Exchange', a new community facility opposite Twickenham Station. Its address is The Exchange, 75 London Road, Twickenham, TW1 1BE.

Its amenites include a very comfortable, tiered 300 seat theatre, an onsite bar and a cafe. Our first screening at our new venue will be ‘Paterson’ on 16 January, 2018.

In 'The Other Side of Hope',  poker-playing restauranteur meets a Syrian refugee just arrived in Finland. Kaurismäki creates a drama/comedy around Europe’s immigration issues in his characteristically lugubrious and deadpan style.

Tickets on the night for non-members are £6 (or £8 to attend the Christmas party, including a glass of wine and canapes). The screening concludes the first half of Richmond Film Society’s season and it will be followed by the Christmas party.

Discounted memberships for the second half of our Season at The Exchange - comprising eight films and commencing with ‘Paterson’ on 16 January - are now available for £35 - i.e. for less than £4.40 per film (full-time students £20). Existing memberships are, of course, valid at the new location.

Tickets on the night for non-members are £6 (£4 full-time students) and all are very welcome. Please come along and join us at The Exchange.
